The Egypt e-Visa is the most popular option for travellers from the UK. This online visa can be applied for before departure and allows you to enter Egypt for tourism purposes. Once approved, the e-Visa is sent by email and should be printed and shown on arrival. Travellers can usually choose between a single-entry visa for a stay of up to 30 days or a multiple-entry visa if they plan to leave and re-enter Egypt during their trip.

UK travellers also have the option to obtain a visa on arrival at major Egyptian airports. This involves paying the visa fee at the airport before passing through immigration. While convenient for last-minute travel, queues can be long, so many visitors prefer to apply online in advance to save time and avoid delays.

In limited cases, visitors staying only in Sharm el Sheikh and nearby resort areas for up to 15 days may be granted entry without a visa. However, this exemption does not allow travel outside those areas.
